The White Out.
A diary about forgetting.
In Iceland, I experienced for the first time the natural phenomena known as the 'whiteout'. This is a sudden snow storm, you are unable to see anything around you, there are no reference points at all, the individual is left with a distorted orientation and it just feels as if everything around you disappears. For a few minutes you are in the middle of a big void.
This project doesn’t aim to show a geographical location, but uses the place, the nature and the characters to represent an internal journey about the process of forgetting, the fear of letting go and the dealing with returning and vanishing memories that would just burst in unexpectedly.
This is the waiting, the experiencing and the returning from a storm, back to finding that everything was still there.
